Mrs. Teresa Rogers Bryant was a true renaissance woman. After graduating from Ashley High School, Teresa began several different career paths including becoming a beautician and owning several small retail businesses. After marrying John Phifer Rogers III, she had two children, Bridgette (d. 1968) and her beloved son John Phifer Rogers IV. During these years, Teresa was known for her love of sports and supporting her son in his athletic career. She could always be found on a football field or driving wrestlers to their meets in support of her son. Upon her husbands death, she began work as a bail bondsmen serving in Lincoln and Gaston County.
Teresa moved into a career in law enforcement in 1990 after raising her son John. She worked for the Lincoln County Sheriffs office for several years serving in several different roles. During her time with the Sherrifs office she met and married her husband Herb Bryant. Teresa and Herb purchased a night club in the early 2000’s. This club brightened both the social and cultural scene of Gaston County. Night Owls became a popular venue for local and national entertainment. Her son married in 2006 (Julie Rogers) and Teresa was blessed with two grandsons John Phifer Rogers V and Trevor Rogers. Teresa had a love for boating, telling jokes, shooting and playing cards. She was known for her love of Poker….and she was great at it!
She leaves this world a brighter place after making lifelong friendships with so many. Her love of entertainment was matched only to that of the love she had for her beloved Chihuahus, Pookie, Missy, Taz and Chaquita. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law John and Julie Rogers, two grandsons (JP Rogers and Trevor Rogers), two sisters: Pam Fernandez (Ricky) and Melba Burch (Earl), her sister in law Lyn Owens, nieces, nephews, countless friends and colleagues
