GASTONIA - Phyllis Dean Brown, 59, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on Feb. 21, 2009. She was born on April 16, 1949, daughter of Pearl Lee Brown of Gastonia. 

Phyllis graduated from Frank L. Ashley Senior High School in 1967. Since last year, she has been a student at Gaston College. 

For more than 40 years, she had been employed as a supervisor at Swift Galleries. 

Survivors include her mother, Pearl Brown; brother, Donald Brown, both of Gastonia; sisters, Delores Duff on Denver, Jacqueline Ramseur (Donald) of Gastonia; Joclyn Clark (John) of Lewisville, Texas; seven nephews and nieces; 20 great-nephews and nieces. 

A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God on Myrtle School Road in Gastonia with the Rev. David Scruggs Sr. officiating. 

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church and other times at 2518 Mary Ave., Gastonia.
