William (Sonny) Lee Brockman

SHALLOTTE- Sonny, 69, passed away April 5, 2019 in Shallotte. He was a graduate of Ashey High School in Gastonia class of 1967. He attended Gaston College in Dallas, NC. He worked as an air traffic controller during his military service. 

Sonny worked for several newspapers over the years including the Gastonia Gazette, Charlotte Observer, Myrtle Beach Sun News and others. He traveled the US extensively. He retired from shipping industry in 2015. He then moved to the NC coast until his passing in 2019. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Bobbie) Brockman. Arrangements are in the care of Coastal Cremations.
